Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Stocktwits Top 25 Newsletter for Week #27, 2020.
The Stocktwits Top 25 reports the top 25 performing stocks in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 year to date (YTD) and tracks their performances over time.
Here’s your Stocktwits Top 25 Lists for Week #27:
ST Top 25 S&P 500
All the top names on the Stocktwits Top 25 S&P 500 powered higher. Breadth was strong. 💨
#1 and #2 Dexcom and Regeneron sat tight in their top spots while gaining 6.34% and 1.81% respectively.
Amazon traded up 7.3% moving up to #5. ABIOMED, Inc gained 10% jumping from #10 to #6.
T-Mobile gained 0.77% this week but dropped 3 spots from #16 to #19. That’s what happens when you can’t keep pace with the leaders. 🤷♂️
$MSFT jumped back onto the ST Top 25 S&P List with a respectable +5% week.
Here’s the ST Top 25 List for the S&P 500 for Week #27:
The Stocktwits Momentum Meter calculates the average weekly performance of the top 25 stocks and reflects how the top stocks are performing week to week relative to the broader index.
The ST Top 25 S&P 500 Momentum Meter rose 4.17% while the S&P 500 Index gained 4.02%. The slight differential shows that the S&P 500 was hot last week, not just the top stocks.
The Big Cap Nasdaq 100
The ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100 is led by freaks. Zoom Video maintained it’s #1 position for the 6th straight week. It has now closed green 6 weeks in a row.
Tesla was all charged up.⚡️ The stock rallied ~26% and $TSLA is the most valuable car marker in the world.
The top 10 stocks in the Nasdaq 100 are all up at least 50% on the year. Winners win.
NetEase was the only loser this week. Step up, bro.
The ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100 Momentum Meter powered up 4.38% but fell short of the Nasdaq 100’s 4.62% gain. The -0.24% differential suggests that the top stocks traded slightly below the full index.
Small-Cap Russell 2000
The top stocks in the Russell continue the rampage. The ST Top 25 R2K list has been dominant the last three weeks with gains of 18.68%, 11%, and 7.48%. Sheer strength.
Novavax stayed in the #1 spot, no surprise here. $NVAX is up 1,951% YTD. What are these guys doing, curing COVID?
$WTHR and $INO swapped places once again, Waitr Holdings at #2 and Inovio Pharmaceuticals at #3.
6 Freshmen names made the list in Week #27. Centogen was the standout freshman rocking a 24% weekly gain. More on that one below.
Smith & Wesson is another Freshman name, entering the list at #19 after gaining 16.69% for the week. 💥
Here’s the ST Top 25 List for the Russell 2000 for Week #27:
The Russell 2000 Index rose 3.85% last week while the ST Top 25 Russell 2000 Momentum Meter jumped 7.57%.
That’s a 3.72% differential in favor of the ST Top 25 R2K. This marks 3 weeks that the top stocks in the Russell 2000 have outperformed handily. Winners win.
ST Top 25 TOP DAWG OF THE WEEK 🐶

The Top Dawg of the Week for Week #27 is Tesla.
$TSLA jumped 26% this week while becoming the most valuable automaker in the world.
The stock rose 8% yesterday alone after reporting better than expected second quarter deliveries. It’s up 188% YTD. Sorry, Shorty.
Here’s the monthly chart. When you zoom out it really doesn’t look that crazy and even has a measured move kinda vibe.

The Winners 📈
△ #5 S&P 500 – Amazon.com, Inc. tore it up this week. The e-commerce giant gained 7.33% and moved up one spot to #5 on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 List.
$AMZN closed at an all-time high on Thursday. Since the beginning of April, the stock has closed at a weekly all-time high 12 out of the last 13 weeks. 💪
Take a peek at the weekly dominance. $AMZN is up 56.42% YTD.
△ #13 N100 – Netflix Inc made week #27 its b*itch. The stock rose 7.55% while moving up one spot on the ST Top 25 N100 List.
Similar to Amazon, Netflix has been a beast of late. The weekly chart shows a clean box break-out. Can this breakout be sustained? Place your bets…
$NFLX is already up 47% YTD. 💪
△ #23 R2K – Centogen NV made one helluva debut on the ST Top 25 R2K List. The stock gained 25% during the 4-day week and settled in at the #23 spot.
Shares were up nearly 8% on Monday after the rare disease company announced that it will offer COVID testing to travelers in the Frankfurt airport until the end of July.
On top of this, Centogen also announced that its COVID test has been granted emergency use authorization by the FDA. Well done. 👏
△ #24 S&P 500 – Microsoft Corporation – We’ve seen a move into large-cap names on the winners lists this week, $MSFT is the last addition.
The stock came into Week #27 gun slinging, closing green all four out of four days. Impressive. $MSFT has also closed green the last five weeks in a row, up 11.55% in that time. Steady as she goes.
Earnings are approaching on July 15th for the behemoth so keep an eye out y’all. 👀
The Sinners 📉
▼ #15 N100 – NetEase, a Chinese internet company, gave up a portion of last week’s gains. It only fell 1.63% but dropped 3 spots on the ST Top 25 N100 List. It was the only red name on the N100 List.
$NTES likes to stair step higher. The latest advances have been followed by short-term consolidations, resembling a set of stairs. Two weeks ago the stock made new highs, this week it went sideways under that high. Will we see the next leg higher? Place your bets…
▼ #4 R2K – Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc was last week’s biggest gainer and it’s this week’s biggest loser.
The stock dropped 28.45% and lost 2 spots on the ST Top 25 R2K List.
After soaring 110% last week, it seems Inovio is taking a breather.
$INO is still up 550% YTD on prospects of a COVID vaccine. Here’s a look at the weekly.
▼ #19 S&P 500 – T-Mobile managed a small gain while most of these other names were popping off. Although the stock was up 0.77% this week, it was the ST Top 25 S&P 500’s worst performer.
$TMUS fell 3 spots on the List, from #16 to #19.
The stock is up 38% YTD.
