No Hard Feelings, Shorty.

Tale of the Tape

Good evening everyone. Stocks were mixed today. Tech ripped higher while small caps got sold.

The S&P 500 rose .5%, ho hum, but there were some insane moves among individual names. More on this below.

Apple will reclose stores, the stock dropped a couple bucks on the news, but it still closed flat on the day. $AAPL is less than 1% off its all-time high.

We’re at a place where stocks don’t care about the reemergence of COVID. This could turn on a nickel or maybe stocks are discounting a benign conclusion to the fiasco.

Nobody freakin’ knows, which is infuriating and sublime. Place your bets… 🙂

Real Estate, Communication Services and Utilities all gained more than 2% while Energy dropped 2.43%.

Here’s your closing prices in the major equity indices:

Today in Psycho Stock Moves

Sure, the whole year has been insane so far and we all know it. Mad as a hatter. Whatevs…

But even for 2020, we got some psycho stock moves today. Here’s just a few.

Facebook, which was supposed to be suffering a case of the boycotts, reversed and ripped your face off. No hard feelings, shorty.

$FB has rallied 21 points this week and trades just 2% from all time highs.

Here’s an intraday chart from The Market Ear visualizing the Facebook Face Rip.

Shopify crossed the 4 digit mark and is now up 155% on the year. Online shopping… who woulda thought.

Daqo Energy closed at an all-time high today. Shares were up more than 15% on monstrous volume. $DQ is up 50% in the last 10 trading sessions.

Check out this monthly chart. What a freak.

Chinese solar, what could possibly go wrong. 🤪 lol!

Workhorse Group message volume on Stocktwits has taken off like a freight train. Messages were trickling in at the beginning of June and today 31,000 were posted on the $WKHS stream.

Writing this section, we couldn’t help but be reminded of the good Reverend Heat and his Psychobilly Freakout.

Dichotomy

Stocks were up & down big. 💩 is crazy out there.

Here are today’s winners and losers from the S&P 500.

Elon and Ye ❤️

Here’s an iconic shot of Elon Musk and Kanye West. Laugh now, but we’ll remember this shot for decades.

Speaking of Elon, Tesla closed above 1100 for the first time ever.

Here’s a table with price milestones from Charlie Bilello. 2020 has been a helluva year for $TSLA.
