Stocktwits Top 25 – Week 21 📈

Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the Stocktwits Top 25 Newsletter for Week 21 in 2021.

The Stocktwits Top 25 reports the 25 best-performing stocks in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Russell 2000 year to date (YTD), and tracks their performances over time. 

Here are your Stocktwits Top 25 Lists for Week 21:

ST Top 25 S&P 500

The ST Top 25 S&P 500 list turned it around in Week 21. All 25 names closed higher, a powerful close to May.

Ford flew 9% and is the biggest gainer on the list for the second week in a row. It’s a Winner below.

$LB increased 7.85% and brought its YTD tally to 87.87%, just 5% behind $NUE. This competition could bring for an exciting June. 

4 Freshmen made the list. The companies are American Airlines, Simon Property Group, Occidental Petroleum Corp, and Marathon Petroleum Corp.

The Stocktwits Top 25 S&P 500 Momentum Meter ripped 3.64% while the S&P 500 gained 1.16%. The 2.48% differential in favor of the Top 25 shows the top stocks outperformed the full index.

The Big Cap Nasdaq 100

The ST Top 25 N100 added to Week 20’s gains. 17/25 names closed green.

Applied Material ascended 7.4% to lengthen its lead ahead of #2 ranked ASML Holding. 3 of the top 5 names on the list are semis. 👀

$WBA wiped out all of the prior week’s gains and lost 6 spots, lowering from #8 to #2. It’s a Sinner below.

Three Freshmen made the list. The names are Ulta Beauty, Texas Instruments, and Maxim Integrated Products.

The ST Top 25 Nasdaq 100 Momentum Meter increased 2.52% in Week 21 while the full Nasdaq 100 climbed 2.05%. The 0.47% differential suggests the top stocks performed a bit better than the full index.

Small-Cap Russell 2000

The ST Top 25 R2K List was the top-performing list for the third straight week.

21 of 25 names closed higher. 12 names gained > 10%.

AMC Entertainment ascended 116% this week as the MemeStock sequel heats up. $AMC edged out $SAVA for the 2nd spot on the ST Top 25 R2K list, it’s the Top Dawg below.

Joint Corp. made its appearance on the list as a Freshman. Read more in the Winners section below.

5 new stocks appeared on the ST Top 25 Russell 2000 list. The names include $SB, $JYNT, $PRTA, $PAVM, and $AMRS.

The ST Top 25 R2K Momentum Meter gained 15.66% while the Russell 2000 index rallied 2.42%. The 13.24% differential shows the top stocks were much stronger than the full index.

ST Top 25 TOP DAWG OF THE WEEK 🐶

The ST Top 25 Top Dawg for Week 21, 2021 is #2 R2K – AMC Entertainment Holdings.

AMC Entertainment Holdings ascended 116%, making it a weekly double. The MemeStock bumped Cassava Sciences out of the #2 spot on the ST Top 25 R2K List in dramatic fashion. 

$AMC sits 100% away from $GME with a YTD return of 1,150%.

AMC ignited its killer week on Monday, running up 13.25%.  $AMC traded 20% higher Tuesday, ripped 19% Wednesday, soared 35.6% Thursday, before dipping 1.5% Friday. Quite the week.

The Winners 📈

△ #18 N100 – Ulta Beauty claimed the 18th spot on the ST Top 25 N100 List as a Freshman. This is thanks to a 9.3% weekly gain.

$ULTA increased 5.2% Friday after the company reported better than expected earnings and revenue. 

Here are the stats:

EPS: $4.10 vs $1.92 est.
Revenue: $1.9B, +65% YoY

$ULTA is up 20.27% YTD.

△ #17 R2K – The Joint Corp. soared 28.35% to all-time-highs in Week 21. The chiropractic care provider climbed onto the ST Top 25 R2K List as a Freshman, it’s now ranked 17th. 

$JYNT jumped 17.8% on Tuesday after it was announced the company will replace Cubic Corp. in the S&P SmallCap 600 effective prior to the opening of trading on Thursday, May 27.

$JYNT is up 165.6% YTD.

△ #7 S&P 500 – Ford Motor Co. doubled its ranking on the ST Top 25 S&P 500 List, moving from #15 to #7. The motor company has been the biggest gainer on the S&P 500 list two weeks in a row.

Ford announced plans on Wednesday to increase spending on electric car research and development to $30 billion by 2025, almost a third more than it predicted earlier this year. Ford hopes to begin producing its own batteries, including at two planned U.S. battery-cell facilities, alongside Korea’s SK Innovation Co.

$F was bid up 8.5% Wednesday and another 7% Thursday.

$F is up 65.3% YTD and sits at 6-year highs.

The Sinners 📉

▼ #8 N100 – Walgreens Boots Alliance was the weakest stock on the ST Top 25 N100 List, down 4%. The holding company for Walgreens and Boots lost 6 spots on the list, moving from #2 to #8.

$WBA sold off 4% Wednesday after it was released Amazon is considering opening physical pharmacies in the United States.

▼ #13 R2K – Safe Bulkers slipped 10% this week to close at #13 on the ST Top 25 R2K List.

$SB increased the maximum aggregate dollar amount of shares of the company’s common stock that may be sold under its previously announced at-the-market (“ATM”) program to $100.0 million.

The stock closed lower each ensuing day. Is this the sign of more weakness to come? Time will tell.
