The Weekend Rip: It’s Earnings Szn 🔥

Tale of the Tape

Good evening, everyone. We’ve got a ship ton of earnings this week. More than 200 companies are expected to report. 🚢

Most notably— we’ll see numbers from Netflix and Silvergate on Tuesday. Chipotle, Las Vegas Sands, and Lam Research report Wednesday. Snap, Freeport McMoRan, and Samuel Adams come through on Thursday. See more below.

The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average dashed to all-time highs last week. Is it time for the Russell 2000 and Nasdaq Composite to catch up??

Crypto kinda collapsed over the weekend. The streams got silly as bitcoin broke below 52K for the first time since March 26— even ethereum ticked 2,000. Doge, however, dipped on Saturday but already bounced back. What a crazy crypto. 🤣

Here’s the weekly S&P 500 chart:

And last week’s changes:

S&P 5004,185+1.37%
Nasdaq14,052+1.09%
Russell 20002,262+0.86%
Dow Jones34,200+1.18%

Here. We. Go. 💸

Talk Is Cheap…?

Clubhouse announced that it closed a new Series C round on Sunday. And they say talk is cheap… 😉

Andrew Chen of Andreessen Horowitz led the round of financing which values the one-year-old company at ~ $4 billion, 4X its January valuation.

The app allows users to host or listen in to audio-only programs has been the talk of the town. The company said its servers “have struggled a little these past few months.” Seems like a good problem to have.

The fresh capital will help further grow the company and introduce paid-creator services. 👀

Are audio-only apps here to stay???
