Weekly Candles 🕯
Despite the weak trading volume, it was another wild week on Wall Street.

Digital Life Imitates Art
While art is constant, medium is fluid. From cave paintings to 3D renders, art from each era leaves a distinct impression. In 2021, some artists think the next big ‘thing’ is NFTs and their frameworks.
Alexis Chritodoulou, a 3D artist, described this new digital era:
We’re right at the beginning of the frontier. This is an opportunity to create something beautiful because you’re in charge again.
As NFTs continue to sell at record rates, artists hope their art remains specialized rather than commercialized. Andreas Wannerstedt, a motion graphics artist, expressed:
I think a lot of high-level artists and designers will try to move away from the commercial design industry and focus more on their own projects.
Will .gifs be hanging in the Louvre one day? Maybe one day the Mona Lisa will wink at you. 😅
Monkey Mind Pong 🧠 🕹️
Elon’s done it again. But this feat has nothing to do with outer space…
Musk’s startup, Neuralink, planted a brain-chip in a macaque monkey. With Neuralink’s implant, Pager the Monkey can play video games with his mind. Yes, without using a joystick.
What could this mean for the future? Elon Musk tweeted:
First @Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs… Later versions will be able to shunt signals from Neuralinks in the brain to Neuralinks in body motor/sensory neuron clusters, thus enabling, for example, paraplegics to walk again. The device is implanted flush with the skull & charges wirelessly, so you look & feel totally normal.
The chip, implanted in Pager’s motor cortex, works by recording and decoding the brain’s electrical signals. 🤯 Click here to watch some monkey mind pong. 🧠 🕹️
