Tale of the Tape
Good evening, y’all, and happy freakin’ Friday!! 🥂
The market of stocks had a mellow week, but that didn’t stop the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average from breaking out to blue skies. 🛸
Every major index closed the week on a high note. The Russell 2000 rallied hard into the close to finish up 0.04%.
Healthcare was today’s strongest sector. Industrials, consumer discretionary, technology, and financials all flew to new all-time highs. Energy struggled to stay above water— $XLE dropped 0.57%.
Crypto remained quiet, but will it cruise during our weekend recess?? Who knows— see the charts below. 🕯
Intel inched up 1.8% to close $0.21 off its January 24 all-time high.

Weekly Candles 🕯
Despite the weak trading volume, it was another wild week on Wall Street.
Stocks around the world settled at new records. 🌎 iShares MSCI ACWI ETF, which tracks large and mid cap global stocks in ~85% of the developed and emerging markets, marched to a new all-time high.
Technology was this week’s strongest sector. $XLK turned up 4.64% and closed at a new weekly all-time high for the first time since early February.
The FAANG Gang flew more than 4% for its second straight week. The NYSE FANG+ Index is within 6% of its February 12 all-time high.

America’s Apple was the strongest FAANG member. $AAPL advanced 8%, and it’s only 7% off its previous all-time high. 🍏
Bitcoin barely budged this week. The crypto maintained its previous week’s range as it chills just below 60K. ❄️
Ethereum also had a quiet week. ETH.X ticked an all-time high on Tuesday, but the crypto’s stuck in a tight trading range (1950 – 2150). 👀

Digital Life Imitates Art
While art is constant, medium is fluid. From cave paintings to 3D renders, art from each era leaves a distinct impression. In 2021, some artists think the next big ‘thing’ is NFTs and their frameworks.
Alexis Chritodoulou, a 3D artist, described this new digital era:
We’re right at the beginning of the frontier. This is an opportunity to create something beautiful because you’re in charge again.
As NFTs continue to sell at record rates, artists hope their art remains specialized rather than commercialized. Andreas Wannerstedt, a motion graphics artist, expressed:
I think a lot of high-level artists and designers will try to move away from the commercial design industry and focus more on their own projects.
Will .gifs be hanging in the Louvre one day? Maybe one day the Mona Lisa will wink at you. 😅
Monkey Mind Pong 🧠 🕹️
Elon’s done it again. But this feat has nothing to do with outer space…
Musk’s startup, Neuralink, planted a brain-chip in a macaque monkey. With Neuralink’s implant, Pager the Monkey can play video games with his mind. Yes, without using a joystick.
What could this mean for the future? Elon Musk tweeted:
First @Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs… Later versions will be able to shunt signals from Neuralinks in the brain to Neuralinks in body motor/sensory neuron clusters, thus enabling, for example, paraplegics to walk again. The device is implanted flush with the skull & charges wirelessly, so you look & feel totally normal.
The chip, implanted in Pager’s motor cortex, works by recording and decoding the brain’s electrical signals. 🤯 Click here to watch some monkey mind pong. 🧠 🕹️
