WeedMaps Goes SPAC

WeedMaps will go public through a deal with Silver Spike Acquisition Corp.

The California-based company allows users to find and review marijuana sellers. Companies that “touch” cannabis are unable to list in the US, but Weedmaps’ platform is an exception.

WeedMaps CEO Chris Beals said:

When you look at what we’re offering [to investors], there’s really not too much else like it.

After the House’s federal decriminalization of marijuana, the deal’s expected to raise ~$575M. It’s lit. 😌 💨

New Whales?

Researchers discovered a new species of giant beaked whale off Mexico’s coast. 🐳

While boating 500 km south of the US border, oceanographer Jay Barlow saw some unique-looking whales next to his boat.

Turns out, the giant whales might be a new species! It’s a huge zoological discovery if true. Barlow said:

It is a huge animal, the weight of a Clydesdale horse. Imagine something that big in the terrestrial realm going undiscovered. But there’s a lot of mysteries in the sea.
