Energy was the best sector. $XLE surged 3.7%. Reopening sectors like real estate and industrials both gained > 2%. Tech only jumped 0.8%. Rotation nation.
COVID cases continue to climb. New York City may close schools on Monday. Be safe, y’all. 😷

DraftKings reported earnings early this morning. Revenue nearly doubled year-over-year.

Revenue: $133M +98.5% YoY
In addition to strong sales growth, the Company raised FY2020 revenue guidance.

The resumption of major sports such as the NBA, MLB and the NHL in the third quarter, as well as the start of the NFL season, generated tremendous customer engagement. In addition to our year-over-year pro forma revenue growth of 42%, DraftKings recorded an increase in monthly unique payers of 64% to over 1 million, demonstrating the effectiveness of our data-driven sales and marketing approach. Our product offerings and scalable platform provide a distinctive and personalized experience for customers across the ten states where we operate mobile sports betting today, and we look forward to entering additional jurisdictions at the earliest opportunity.

DoorDash filed for an IPO today.
The Company will trade under ticker, $DASH. 🏃😤
The food delivery company’s revenue skyrocketed to almost $2B during the 2020 pandemic.
DoorDash waited to file its IPO until after California’s Proposition 22.
DoorDash said this about the IPO:

Gamers’ Galore
Gamers are doing great.
Video game sales exploded to $37.5B in October, jumping 14% YoY.
New game releases like FIFA 21, Watch Dogs: Legion, NHL 21, and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit were a hit.
The pandemic’s done wonders for the gaming industry. Just earlier this week, Microsoft and Sony released their next-gen consoles.

The Marlins Made History
The Miami Marlins just hired the first-ever female general manager, Kim Ng.
Kim Ng started her career with the MLB in 1991 as a White Sox special projects analyst. Ng also managed the Yankees in ‘98, eventually landing her promotion as the Dodgers’ assistant general manager in 2001.
Ng is now the highest-ranking woman in baseball and supposedly the first female GM in all U.S. men’s pro sports leagues.
Kim Ng said this about her new big role:
This challenge is one I don’t take lightly. When I got into this business, it seemed unlikely a woman would lead a Major League team, but I am dogged in the pursuit of my goals.
