Good evening everyone and welcome to another glorious week in the stock market.
Earnings season is still in full effect and this week we’ll see numbers from Mercado Libre, Novavax, Nio, and DraftKings.
Last week the market chugged higher. This is the second highest weekly close ever in the S&P 500. Really take a moment to let that soak in. Plus, we have a streak of 6 straight higher closes.
Here’s the weekly S&P 500 chart.
Surely we’ll have a pullback at some point??? Right?
S&P 500 | 3,351 | +2.45% |
Nasdaq | 11,011 | +2.47% |
Russell 2000 | 1,569 | +6.00% |
Dow Jones | 27,433 | +3.80% |
So Now Twitter Wants Vine?
Over the weekend it came out that Twitter expressed interest in Tik Tok. This is absolutely ridiculous 🤣. Twitter had Vine and killed it. Why does the company wanna get back in the short-video game? Maybe they realise how big of a mistake deleting Vine was??
The big question here is how could Twitter possibly finance the deal? They sure as heck don’t have a cash pile the size of a nation like Apple.
“Expressed interest in Tik Tok” could be the phrase of the week. These are all rumors though. President Trump said that he will be banning the app on September 15th if a deal doesn’t get done. Who knows what is real until a check gets signed cleared. 😉

The World’s Nuclear Reactors
Nuclear energy is growing like crazy in Asia. Currently, the largest growth in the nuclear power space is happening in Asia while the Western part of the world is decreasing its use.
Given the disruption in the oil and gas industry due to COVID this year, is this an opportunity for innovation in the energy space?
Featured below is a great map from the Visual Capitalist laying out the world’s nuclear reactors.
